Painting, collage, drawing, and sculpture from Dallas–Fort Worth — built from contradiction: the domestic and the wild, grunge and beauty, the raw and the refined. The same instinct shows up differently depending on the medium — loose and gestural in the paintings, tighter and more graphic in the drawings — but it’s the same hand underneath. Rachel Townsend Cerny (RTown) is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting and collage, based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. She holds a BFA in Drawing & Painting from the University of North Texas (2018), and founded RTown Gallery in historic downtown Grapevine, where she has curated nearly 50 exhibitions as an artist-turned-gallerist.
Her own work has evolved from textured explorations of leisure and identity toward large-scale paintings, and is currently moving toward something more luminous — delicate, light-filled, and quietly electric. Exhibitions include the 2026 Fort Worth Art Fair, the Winter 2025 Evolve solo exhibition, the 2022 Tower Gallery Grapevine Artists Show, and group shows including The Other Art Fair and galleries across Dallas.

These are pieces you can build a room around. They’re the anchors — full of color, texture, and emotion. Large-scale paintings don’t decorate a room. They own it.
